TIVIT FORESIGHT SEMINAR 2009
TIVITt’s first research programs have been running more than a year. Programs got positive acceptance and are growing and two new programs are in the process to start in the beginning of 2010. Now is time to make wider business impact and build the new set of business ecosystem programs. All this and what should be built next are the topics of our TIVIT Foresight Seminar 2009!

The Tivit Foresight Seminar 20084.12.2008 8am-4.30pm, Finlandia Hall (Finlandia-talo), Helsinki
During the seminar we will start the planning stage for the 2009 projects. In addition we will also begin the SRA planning for the programmes intended for 2010.
The seminar is for all those who intend to participate in the projects and who would like to be involved in choosing research areas that will have a significant effect on Finland’s future,

18.12.2008 ARTEMIS Call 2 Workshop18.12.2008 8.30am – 1pm, Sokos Hotel Pasila (Maistraatinportti street 3), Helsinki
The application process of ARTEMIS 2 – developing European Ubiquitous Computing Systems – will begin soon.
We will discuss latest information about the ARTEMIS – 2 application process which will begin shortly. We will also talk about the ways that companies in particular can participate in this application process.
In addition companies and research institutes that are already completing their projects will share about their own plans and needs for partnership. At the beginning we will hear from various individuals, including representatives of VTT - Technical Research Centre of Finland, Nokia and Kone. In the last session of the workshop there will also be a chance to discuss project ideas.
The aim of the event is to show distinct benefits to be gained from participating, the funding opportunities for ARTEMIS and also the practical steps needed to become a part of the consortium.

The workshop is organised by the Tekes Ubicom Ubiquitous Computing programme.
Tivit believes that European programmes are important and is trying to promote those participating in its own programmes to also play a part in European programmes. Tivit Ltd is a member of Artemisia (www.artemisia-association.org).
Tekes ICT and Tivit – 2009 Programmes and Funding14.10.2008, Finlandia Hall (Finlandia-talo), Helsinki
Tekes (the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation) and Tivit Ltd (the Strategic centre for Science, Technology and Innovation in the Field of ICT) are organising an event, whose aim is to both give an overview of Tekes’s ICT sector programmes (GIGA – converging networks, Ubicom – Ubiquitous computing, VAMOS – Mobile Enterprise Solutions, Verso – Vertical Software Solutions) as well as to report on the status of the research programmes, actions and aims of the ICT sector (ICT SHOK, Tivit Ltd) in 2009. The event also seeks to clarify the central role that Tekes and the study programmes of Strategic centre for Science, Technology and Innovation in the Field of ICT play in the funding.
Come to be involved in shaping the programmes, to network with players in the ICT industry and to receive the very latest information – and all in the same place at the same time!
The meeting is free and intended for all those who are participating in (or who intend to participate in) programmes or to benefit from Tekes’s ICT funding and services for the ICT sector.
