TIVIT is ready to create new SRA – working to a tight, yet reasonable, timetable. The preparation will be carried out openly, with every party interested in the topic able to play their role. The announcement about the preparation situation will be made on this website.
The new topic areas may be born from TIVIT’s Foresight process or, alternatively, the suggestion may come from outside of TIVIT. Well-founded suggestions for new topic areas are constantly being received.
There are currently two new SRAs/programmes being developed:

The “Data to intelligence” (D2l) SRA. Focussed on knowledge pools, this SRA is being led by Logica.
The SRA for D2l has already been developed, and preparation for the Tekes programme based upon it will begin immediately. Everyone who is interested in taking part in the programme should get in touch with either Jukka Ahtikari, Petri Myllymäki or Pauli Kuosmanen:

The second SRA is the "Internet of Things". In the near future the internet and wireless technologies will connect different sources of information such as sensors, mobile phones and cars in an ever tighter manner. We can see that the number of devices which connect to the internet is – seemingly exponentially – increasing. These billions of components produce, consume and process information in different environments such as logistic applications, factories, airports as well as in the work and everyday lives of people. We need new, scalable, compatible and secure solutions for both the management of the ever more broad, complexly-networked Internet of Things, and also for the support of various business models. It is in this context that Tivit is overseeing the development of a new Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) in this area. The express aim of this SRA is both to create framework for study within the given field and also to clearly define the central research objectives.

The third SRA is "Services"
“Services” is the working name for a Tivit SRA to foster an ecosystem on ICT services. The SRA is led by Nokia.
Currently the SRA-writing is ongoing and we are looking for proposals on topic areas, and collaborative projects (for the program-phase).
The planning parameters for the SRA are as follows:
Mission:
Implement service enablers and new vertical services based on existing and new enablers, in currently underserved sectors.
Target groups:
Initial focus areas in Service platforms for SME’s serving novel sectors, later expansion of these platforms to other segments such as persons or GO’s. (target audience should be better defined in program planning)
Currently the Services Program is foreseen to have four project pools:
- SME Services, platforms and enablers
- Educational Services, platforms and enablers
- Welness and health Services, platforms and enablers
- Financial Services platforms and enablers
as well as four technical themes:
- Services technologies
- Services platforms
- Testing and testing systems
- Trust certification
Proposed projects can be in one or more of the project pools and themes. Also bear in mind this is very preliminary thinking so proposals and change suggestions are greatly welcomed.
Measures of success:
5-10 new productized vertical services, 2-3 new service start-up companies who use Nokia enablers, 10-15 enablers, features etc. Demonstrated. (more exact figures should be defined in program planning)
