10.12.2008Planning for Next Year UnderwayEveryone Challenged to Make a Difference!
The Foresight seminar is like the shot from a starting pistol not only in terms of creating new SRAs but also in terms of second year plans for the four programmes already underway. It is hoped that all interested parties will be actively involved in changing the future by taking an active part in the planning process.
Applications for the four programmes already underway need to be submitted in March or April 2009.
The decision to go ahead with the potential new SRAs depends on both whether sufficient interest is found and also whether the topic would be better suited to a Tekes Programme or a Tivit SRA. All parties concerned will seek to make this decision before summer 2009 and we will seek to begin the new programmes in January 2009.
If you are interested then we would like to ask you to contact either the managers at Tivit or the leaders of the SRA in question:

29.11.2008The Flexible Service Programme Receives a Further Two Years FundingThe board of Tekes has made its funding decision concerning Tivit’s fourth research programme. Flexible Services is a four-year programme and the first funding stage is two years long. The total cost of all four of Tivit’s programmes runs to 31.6 million euros, of which Tekes contributes 16.3 million euros.
The Flexible Services research programme seeks to promote the development of flexible services and their delivery to the marketplace. The programme makes it possible for Finnish companies to operate an ICT-based service business. The development of flexible services requires all those actively participating in a chain or web of services – from service-users to service-creators and suppliers to operators – to work together in a new way.
Flexible Services is a place where Finnish and international companies from different fields, research organisations, different user networks and a range of public organisations come together and see new services being born. There are 36 participants taking part in the first stage of the programme – 25 companies and 11 research bodies. The programme seeks to grow and has the aim of networking on an international level. As an engine for the growth of services, the programme seeks to play its part in increasing Finland’s GDP.
The other three research programmes already underway are the Future Internet programme, the Devices and Interoperability Ecosystem programme and the Cooperative ICT programme.
